The people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have seen a decades long period of subjugation and suffering, oppression and ordeal ever since the Partition Plan was usurped. Despite the endless sufferings, one thing that remains constant is the deep-rooted love and unwavering patriotism of Kashmiri people – elders and youth, women and children – for Pakistan. If there is no letup in atrocities by Indian forces, there is no pause in the people’s will, determination and enthusiasm as and when it comes to celebrating the national days like 23rd March, 14th August, 6th September or 5th February.
Last month, the Kashmiri people, especially the Kashmiri youth and children, joined hands together with the Pakistani youth and children, while observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day with an added fervor and zeal. This month, on 23rd March, they were on the forefront to celebrating the Pakistan Day with an added pride and courage. A similar activity and spirit is seen amongst the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), including children and youth. On this Pakistan Day, they came together and celebrated the founding of their beloved country Pakistan. The day marks the Pakistan Resolution of 1940, which was earlier called the Lahore Resolution. It was a landmark resolution that paved the way for the creation of Pakistan. For the Kashmiri children and youth, it provides an opportunity to express their unwavering love for Pakistan.
Schools and educational institutions throughout Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir participate in these activities, organizing events that bring together the people belonging to all walks of life and all parts of the country. Wearing Pakistan’s national dress, waving flags, and singing national songs, the children, students and youth fill the atmosphere with joy and energy. APS students from AJK also join hands particularly with the rest of the country, including the Aftab Hussain Shaheed Army Public School and Jazba School (for special children) Muzaffarabad which are known for producing academically gifted students and nurturing young patriots who are deeply dedicated to the cause of Pakistan. This year too, the schools organized grand events for the national days featuring a range of segments like speeches and exhibitions that honor Pakistan’s rich culture, history, and sacrifices. The students from AJK schools gathered to present performances that emphasized the importance of Kashmir’s un-detachable connection with Pakistan. They sang national songs, performed stage plays and tableaus and brought to life various scenes from Pakistan’s struggle for independence as well as the sacrifices of Kashmiri people, and the enduring bond between Kashmir and Pakistan. These events serve as a reminder that the future of Pakistan lies in the hands of these young patriots, who are determined to carry the values of the nation forward.
