Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) MOAWIN recently embarked on a humanitarian mission to East Africa, visiting Kenya, Comoros, and Seychelles. The mission aimed to provide medical assistance to local communities and strengthen bilateral relations with these nations.
PNS MOAWIN visited Mombasa, Kenya, where it set up a free medical camp. Upon arrival at the port of Mombasa, PNS MOAWIN was warmly welcomed by local authorities. At the medical camp, Pakistan Navy (PN) surgeons and medical specialists provided free medical consultations, treatments, and medicines to patients.
During the port visit, the Commanding Officer (CO) of PNS MOAWIN met Commander Kenya Navy, Major General Paul Owuor Otieno, and other local government officials to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation. The CO conveyed the good wishes of the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Naveed Ashraf, to the people of Kenya and expressed gratitude for the support extended by the host Navy and the local Pakistani community.
PNS MOAWIN also conducted its maiden visit to Comoros and established a free medical camp for the local population. The establishment of free medical camps in Mombasa and Comoros was widely appreciated.
Upon arrival at Port Mutsamudu, Anjouan Island, the ship was warmly welcomed by the Commander of the Comorian Coast Guard, along with other senior military and government officials. During its stay at the port, the CO of PNS MOAWIN called on the Governor of Anjouan, Dr. Zaidou Youssouf, Deputy Chief of the Army Staff Colonel S.B. Dailami, and other civil and military leaders of Comoros.
During the meetings, various matters of mutual interest and opportunities for bilateral cooperation were discussed. The CO also conveyed warm greetings from CNS, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, to the Comorian authorities for their support extended to the visiting ship. The maiden visit of PNS MOAWIN to Comoros stands as a testament to the PN’s commitment to fostering friendly relations and delivering essential medical services to communities in need.
PNS MOAWIN then visited Port Victoria, Seychelles, as part of its overseas deployment to East Africa. PNS MOAWIN was warmly welcomed by Seychelles Defense Force officials upon its arrival.
During the port visit, the CO of PNS MOAWIN held meetings with government officials to explore opportunities for enhancing existing engagements and collaboration between Pakistan and Seychelles.
