After a five-year break, the Federal Government Educational Institutions (FGEI) honored outstanding academic achievements at a two-day grand ceremony, showcasing student talent, teacher excellence, and institutional commitment to educational excellence.
After a five-year hiatus, the Federal Government Educational Institutions (FGEI) held its much-anticipated Excellence Award Ceremony 2024 to honor exceptional academic achievements. This two-day grand event took place on December 19-20, 2024, at the prestigious Zohra Institute of Educational Development in Lalazar, Rawalpindi.
The first part of the event took place on December 19, 2024, with the Director General of FGEI as the Chief Guest. He distributed prizes to the students who secured second and third positions in various categories, as well as to the best teachers in multiple subjects. Students and teachers from across the country attended the ceremony via Zoom.
The second part of the ceremony, held on December 20, 2024, was graced by the esteemed Inspector General of Training and Evaluation (IGT&E), Lieutenant General Fayaz Hussain Shah HI (M). DG FGEI, Major General Qaiser Suleman, served as the host, setting the tone for an uplifting celebration.
The event commenced with a vibrant band display by students from Federal Government (FG) Public School Misrial Road, Rawalpindi, followed by an awe-inspiring exhibition of science and art projects by students of FG Postgraduate College for Women, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi. These projects were created by students from various FG institutions, many of whom had already secured positions at national events, bringing laurels to FGEI. Begum IGT&E awarded cash prizes to the band and project exhibition participants as a form of encouragement. She also commended the efforts of the teachers and Heads of Institutions (HoIs) for their support and patronage of the students.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of medals, certificates, shields, laptops, cash prizes, and souvenirs to high achievers in board exams, best-performing teachers, and institutions for their outstanding achievements during the academic years 2022 and 2023.
The award ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a concise introduction of the esteemed Chief Guest. The program featured an engaging series of performances, including an animated display by the students of FG Public School Mehfooz Road and Abid Majeed Road Rawalpindi, who performed a welcome song. This was followed by a short play titled “The Most Precious Gift” by the students of FG Postgraduate College Abid Majeed Road Rawalpindi. A live performance of the national song "یہ وطن تمہارا ہے، تم ہو پاسباں اس کے" (This homeland is yours, and you are its guardian) by Shehryar, a student from FG Public School Mehfooz Road Rawalpindi, was also part of the ceremony. These performances highlighted the students' talent and creativity, creating a lively atmosphere that underscored the event's theme of celebrating past achievements while looking forward to future excellence.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of medals, certificates, shields, laptops, cash prizes, and souvenirs to high achievers in board exams, best-performing teachers, and institutions for their outstanding achievements during the academic years 2022 and 2023. In particular, special acknowledgment was given to the FGEI Wah region for being declared the best region in academics, a testament to its commitment to excellence in all areas.
In his keynote address, the Chief Guest, Lieutenant General Fayaz Hussain Shah, highlighted the importance of recalling the past glory of FGEI. He emphasized the need to develop infrastructure, strengthen connections with alumni, and enhance teachers' skills. The FGEI Directorate has invested significantly in uplifting the infrastructure of various FGEI institutions across the country. The Chief Guest also underscored the vital role of embodying unity, faith, and discipline in education, in line with the institution’s core values. He stressed the importance of education in shaping the future of the nation and praised the efforts of the teachers and students, acknowledging their tireless commitment to achieving academic excellence. He further commended FGEI institutions for their commitment to providing quality education and fostering a conducive learning environment.
The Excellence Award Ceremony 2024 celebrated both individual achievements and the collective efforts of teachers, students, and administrators. It reinforced FGEI's mission to provide quality education and create an environment that nurtures talent and innovation.
