52nd National Athletics Championships for 2024, a prestigious event in Pakistan Army's sports calendar, concluded with great success at Ayub Stadium, Multan Garrison. The event, organized by the Pakistan Army in collaboration with the Athletics Federation of Pakistan, demonstrated the nation's athletic talent and competitive spirit. Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem, inaugurated the championship, leading the opening parade and symbolically representing Pakistan's athletic aspirations. The tournament featured diverse participation of 14 teams, comprising 600 male and female players, competing in a range of field, track, and miscellaneous events. Throughout the tournament, athletes exhibited exceptional sportsmanship, dedication, and commitment, embodying the true spirit of athletics. Pakistan Army secured first position based on their overall performance, while the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) secured second place.
The closing ceremony was graced by Commander Southern Command and 2 Corps, Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, HI (M), who presented the trophy to the winning team, acknowledging their remarkable achievements and the tournament's high standards.
