Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my admiration for the article, "Progress Driven Development: Vision for ‘Peaceful and Prosperous Pakistan,’" published in the August 2024 issue of Hilal English Magazine. The comprehensive analysis presented by the writer is both insightful and hopeful.
As a resident of Karachi, I find the proposed ‘Fast Paced Socioeconomic Development Program’ particularly encouraging. Dr. Ahmed's emphasis on leveraging Pakistan’s rich natural resources, such as the Indus River System and renewable energy sources, aligns well with the urgent need for sustainable and strategic development. His vision of integrating infrastructure, human capital development, and international partnerships presents a multifaceted approach to overcoming Pakistan’s challenges.
The proposal to create a Strategic Development Division (SDD) and develop a Vision 2035 is a strategic move that could potentially streamline efforts towards rapid growth and self-reliance. The focus on optimizing national resources, improving human capital, and enhancing national wealth through infrastructure development are crucial for the country's long-term prosperity.
Additionally, the suggestion to engage the Pakistani diaspora and integrate modern technologies into various sectors is a forward-thinking approach that could stimulate both economic growth and innovation. Karachi, with its strategic location and diverse economy, stands to benefit significantly from such initiatives.
I hope the proposed policies will be implemented with a focus on inclusivity and sustainable development, reflecting the true spirit of the vision laid out.
Thank you for shedding light on these critical issues and presenting a hopeful pathway for Pakistan’s future.
Sincerely,
Jahanzaib Ahmed, Karachi August 6, 2024
