During an official visit to Qatar, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Naveed Ashraf, called on Qatar's military and naval Leadership.
During his meeting with Chief of Staff Qatar Armed Forces, Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Mohammad Aqeel Al Nabit and Commander Qatari Emiri Naval Forces, Major General Abdulla Hassan Al-Sulaiti, matters of defense ties and mutual bilateral naval collaboration and regional maritime security were deliberated. CNS highlighted the importance of enhancing the interaction between the armed forces of both countries through exercises and training exchange programmes. He underscored the notable contribution of the Pakistan Navy (PN) towards regional maritime peace and stability through its initiative of Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP) and participation in the Combined Maritime Force. Qatar's military leadership appreciated the PN’s invaluable role in maintaining maritime security in the region and acknowledged the significance of strong bilateral defense collaboration.
CNS visited Mohammad bin Ghanem Al Ghanim Maritime Academy, Naval Base Umm Al Houl, and ships of the Qatar Emiri Navy. During his visit to Doha Naval Base, CNS was given a detailed briefing on the roles and tasks of Qatar Emiri Naval Forces.
Pakistan and Qatar historically enjoy brotherly relations, and the visit of CNS will further strengthen and expand defense ties between the two countries in general and their navies in particular.
