Empowering Tomorrow

June 2024

Aligned with the strategic vision of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and to address inflation, the Pakistan Army has identified the revitalization of Information Technology (IT) as a cornerstone of national development objectives. Within this context, empowering Army personnel, their dependents, and spouses in the digital sphere has emerged as a paramount endeavor.

Headquarters 40 Division has established the Al Barq e-Business Hub, comprising the Al Barq Finishing School (AFS) for females and the Rooh Ullah Training Complex (RTC) for males. The curriculum of these training programs encompasses a wide array of digital skills, ranging from web development utilizing WordPress to e-commerce management, graphic design, content writing/blogging, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social media marketing, and Google AdSense.

In pursuit of this vision, Headquarters 40 Division has established the Al Barq e-Business Hub, comprising the Al Barq Finishing School (AFS) for females and the Rooh Ullah Training Complex (RTC) for males. The curriculum of these training programs encompasses a wide array of digital skills, ranging from web development utilizing WordPress to e-commerce management, graphic design, content writing/blogging, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social media marketing, and Google AdSense. Delivered by four esteemed trainers and experts in their respective domains, the training aimed to nurture creativity and self-reliance among participants.
The students had the opportunity to visit esteemed institutions such as the National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) and the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). Encouragingly, during the visit, NSTP pledged two vacancies for top-performing graduates, underscoring the tangible impact of the training.
A notable facet of the program was integrating practical experience, with seven students receiving paid projects during their training tenure. This hands-on approach augmented their skill sets and facilitated the transition from academia to professional endeavors. The success stories emerging from these startups testify to the training program's efficacy. Ventures such as Tazeen, Satchal Affairs, Rehmat-e-Quran, Digital Dynamo, e-Mentor, and Bursho exemplify the transformative potential of digital entrepreneurship. Moreover, several participants have ventured into international collaborations, further amplifying their economic prospects.

The Al Barq e-Business Hub initiative is a testament to the transformative power of digital empowerment. By equipping military personnel and their families with indispensable digital skills, this initiative has not only opened avenues for economic prosperity but also fostered a culture of innovation and self-reliance in the digital age.

The culmination of this initiative was marked by the closing ceremony at the Jinnah Auditorium, Okara Cantonment, graced by Major General Naiknam Muhammad Baig, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 40 Division. The event served as a platform to introduce the Al Barq e-Business Center to the local community, emphasizing the significance of digitization for individual and societal advancement. Al Barq Division celebrated the completion of a comprehensive three-month training program in e-Cottage and e-Women initiatives by 78 participants.
An exhibition was arranged to showcase the achievements of this initiative. All residents of Okara Garrison, the local civilian population, and notable members of society witnessed and appreciated the students' efforts. Moreover, the Chairman and members of the Chamber of Commerce Sahiwal Division also participated in the event and promised to augment and support this initiative further.
In conclusion, the Al Barq e-Business Hub initiative is a testament to the transformative power of digital empowerment. By equipping military personnel and their families with indispensable digital skills, this initiative has not only opened avenues for economic prosperity but also fostered a culture of innovation and self-reliance in the digital age.
