The concluding session of the Pakistan Navy's (PN’s) Major Maritime Exercise SEASPARK-2024 was held in Karachi. Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Naveed Ashraf, graced the session as the Chief Guest. The exercise was conducted in the North Arabian Sea to validate operational plans designed under the realities of the ever-evolving geostrategic environment. Relevant elements of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and the Pakistan Army also participated in the exercise to practice tri-services synergy during warfare.
Addressing the closing session, CNS highlighted that the exercise helped synergize naval operations with land and air operations. He stressed that the ongoing strategic competition among major countries is increasingly confronting difficult foreign policy choices to safeguard national interests. The evolving character of war under grey hybrid scenarios and internal security challenges complicates the threat matrix. All these threats and challenges necessitate constant review of our operational plans through major exercises.
Earlier, the Deputy CNS (Operations) presented an overview of the exercise, and the conduct of the exercise was thoroughly discussed to draw pertinent lessons. Towards the end, recommendations were presented to revise war plans and strategies in the evolving maritime environment in the region.
Exercise SEASPARK-2024 aimed to assess the combat readiness and operational preparedness of the PN to meet the entire spectrum of national security challenges in the maritime domain. The exercise was conducted in a two-force format, with the Blue Force representing own forces and the Orange Force representing enemy forces. The successful conduct of the exercise testified to the perpetual readiness of the PN to combat a broad spectrum of threats in the maritime domain.
The concluding session of the exercise was attended by high-ranking officers from sister services and notable representatives from various ministries.
