COAS General Syed Asim Munir visited the Republic of Uzbekistan on September 5, 2023, with the aim of enhancing military-to-military cooperation and defense collaboration.
During the visit, COAS called on H. E. Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, Defense Minister and the Chairman and Secretary of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan.

During the meetings, COAS also emphasized the importance of enhancing mutual training cooperation and intelligence sharing. He appreciated the standard of training and readiness of the Uzbekistan Military Forces and their understanding of regional security issues.
Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defense, COAS received a warm welcome and was presented with a Guard of Honor by a smartly turned-out contingent. He also laid a floral wreath at the Memorial Complex of Martyrs in Tashkent.
