The landmark achievements by the Pakistan FTR Long Range Team in the FTR European F Class Long Range Championship have earned prestige for the entire nation and received wide appreciation at the national and international levels.

The Pakistan Long Range (FTR) Team participated in the European F Class Championship organized at Bisley, United Kingdom, under the arrangements of the Great Britain F Class Rifle Association from September 5-10, 2023. The Pakistan team made its maiden appearance in the championship with 10 team members, competing in individual and team matches with 200 shooters and 16 nations from around the world.
The championship commenced on September 5, 2023, with matches in the individual category from 800, 900 and 1000 yards, that continued till September 9, 2023. Coveted European Team Championship (International Rutland Team Cup) was held on September 10, 2023. Pakistan Long Range Team made history at the international level by winning two gold medals, three silver medals, one bronze medal in the individual category of FTR matches (800, 900 and 1000 yards) and gold medal in International Rutland FTR Team Cup. The details of the achievements are as under:
September 5, 2023–FTR Individual Category 
FTR Match-3 (900 Yards). Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, HI (M) won ‘silver medal’ for Pakistan in the individual category of FTR Match-3 with a score of 97/100 and 8 Vs. (innermost circle of 5 inches). 
Aggregate FTR Individual Category (800+800+900 Yards). Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfiqar won ‘bronze medal’ for Pakistan in Aggregate FTR individual category match (800+800+900 yards) with a score of 246 and 18 Vs.
September 6, 2023–FTR Individual Category
FTR Match-1 (900 Yards). Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfiqar won ‘gold medal’ for Pakistan in the individual category of FTR Match-1 with a score of 75/75 and 7 Vs. Whereas, ‘silver medal’ was won by Mr. Junaid Waqas Iqbal for Pakistan with a score of 75/75 and 7 Vs on a tie break.
FTR Match-3 (1000 Yards). Mr. Obaid Ibrahim won silver medal for Pakistan in the individual category of FTR Match-3 with a score of 97/100 and 4 Vs.
September 9, 2023–FTR European Championship 
FTR Match-4 (800 Yards). Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, HI (M) won ‘gold medal’ for Pakistan in FTR Match 4 of the championship with a score of 75/75 and 13 Vs; equaling European FTR Championship Record in 800 yards category. 
September 10, 2023–FTR European Teams Championship (International Rutland FTR Team Cup). Pakistan Long Range FTR Team won the prestigious European Team Championship (International Rutland Team Cup) by winning ‘team gold medal and trophy’ with a score of 581/600 and 46 Vs.
Record–European/GB F Class Championship 2023–UK (Bisley). On September 9, 2023, Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, HI (M) with a score of 75/75 and 13 Vs equaled the record of Lithuanian shooter, Saulius Paknys, in 800 yards F/TR category made on September 8, 2023.
New National Record (Pakistan)–800 Yards FTR. Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, HI (M) is currently ranked no. 1 in National FTR Ranking and also holds the current national record in 800 yards FTR category with a score of 75/75 and 8 Vs. As per the procedure, higher international record in the same match or category supersedes the national record. Therefore, Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, HI (M) has improved his own national record by scoring 75/75 and 13 Vs in FTR European Championship Match-4 (800 yards).
Emerging Young Talent of Pakistan in Long Range. Mr. Huzaifa Gill (19 years) is currently ranked no. 2 in National FTR Ranking. He was the youngest team member and shooter to participate in FTR category of European F Class Championship. Huzaifa Gill demonstrated exemplary shooting skills under trying and stressful match conditions and was ranked under 20 in FTR grand aggregate during European F Class Championship. He has great potential and skillset to perform remarkably good for Pakistan in the future long-range’ competitions.
