Students and faculty of Nishtar Medical University spent a day with the Pakistan Army at Multan Garrison. The students visited the Martyrs' Memorial (Yadgar-e-Shuhada), where a floral wreath was laid, and supplications were offered for the martyrs. After that, they were briefed about the role of Pakistan Army and the eternal sacrifices for the motherland and the nation. Students were also briefed about armour, artillery, air defense, engineers, infantry and other weapons. The students enjoyed riding in armoured personnel carriers (APCs), appealing fly-past of helicopters and archery. At the end, they witnessed the assault course demonstration and were familiarized with firing procedures. The purpose of spending the day with Pakistan Army was to foster and strengthen the relationship between the people and the army. While appreciating the training standards and tactical procedures of Pakistan Army, the students acknowledged the availability of modern weapons and the capability of the men of Pakistan Army to deal with any capricious situation besides the inimical elements in a highly professional manner.
