Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Shahjahan visited Port Langkawi, Malaysia, and participated in Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) on May 28, 2023. PNS’ visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance interoperability between the participating navies.
Upon arrival at Port Langkawi, the ship was warmly welcomed by officials of the Malaysia Navy and the Defense Attaché of Pakistan in Malaysia. During meetings with Malaysian officials, the Ship's Commanding Officer conveyed well wishes from Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi for the people of Malaysia in general and the Malaysian Navy in particular. Matters of mutual interest, bilateral collaboration, and Pakistan Navy (PN)’s contribution towards regional peace and maritime security were discussed.
PNS Shahjahan participated in International Fleet Review (IFR) at Langkawi, which the Malaysian Prime Minister witnessed. Concurrently, the ship's officers and crew participated in various conferences, table top discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions on maritime interdiction operations. Upon completing harbor activities, the ship participated in the LIMA Sea Exercise and warships from Brunei, China, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the U.S., and other navies.
The visit of PNS Shahjahan to Malaysia contributed significantly towards promoting naval collaboration between various maritime nations to improve interoperability while strengthening bilateral associations and existing bonds of friendship with Malaysia.
