Heatstroke Centers in Punjab
Keeping in view the ongoing heatwaves, Pakistan Army established 37 heatstroke centres in different districts of Punjab. In this regard, in view of the special instructions of Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan Army provided necessary medical facilities on an emergency basis in the Heatstroke centers in different areas including hospital beds, coolers, drinking water, ice blocks, first aid kits and medicines. In addition, doctors, paramedics and other staff worked at various locations in the urban and rural areas and in the metropolitan cities, including Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala, Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Pasroor, Shakargarh, Kasur, Sialkot, Zafarwal, Daska, Marala, Bahawalnagar, Mailsi, Bahawalpur, Dera Nawab Sahib and far-flung areas of Khairpur, Tamewali and Cholistan desert. Each heatstroke center has been equipped with all necessary facilities to ensure effective healthcare. A large number of people, including men and women, adolescents and children, are benefiting from this facility.
Heatstroke Centers in Sindh
During the recent drought and heatwave, in the areas where health agencies issued a heatstroke alert, Pakistan Army immediately rushed to the rescue. Heatstroke camps were set up by the Pakistan Army in the remote villages of Gharo, Sindh, and clean drinking water was provided to the people living in severe water shortage areas.
Rations were also distributed among the deserving persons on the special orders of COAS. On the occasion, the residents of the area thanked the COAS for army’s help in such difficult times and chanted slogans of "Pakistan Army Zindabad, Pakistan Paindabad".
The relationship of love and respect between Pakistan Army and the people is very old. Whether it is war or peace, Pakistan Army has always lived up to the expectations of the people.
