Work Smarter for Enhanced Productivity at the Workplace

February 2022

Can You Succeed Without Your Team?

While women’s contribution at workplaces is significant, it mostly comes with a back-breaking cost. Women traditionally have been assigned roles that have required super powers to manage their families and homes along with work. These most demanding, yet most underappreciated tasks have always taken a toll on the lives of working women. When women work outside their house, their multitasking powers are put to test, for a majority of these women have to manage their families alongside work responsibilities. While it is strenuous to manage multiple tasks at once, smart work can definitely help to ease your struggles and enhance your productivity at work. Here are some tips and tricks that might come in handy for working women.
Every organization’s success is dependent on teamwork. Multiple people working towards a similar goal in different capacities enhances the overall progress of the organization. Unfortunately, some of us call in trouble for ourselves trying to manage everything perfectly at once by ourselves; while getting things done the way we want to, we might end up cluttering our desks and minds alike. Rather than adding to our own responsibilities, we should indulge in teamwork by constantly being cognizant of how others around us are equally capable and can prove helpful in the completion of our tasks. Working too much may only lead you to backache and sleepless, tired eyes. Receive support and extend it, so that you can optimize work results without getting exhausted. Moreover, teamwork ensures exchange of ideas and you never know, someone on your team might come up with something brilliant.
Teamwork helps you build a positive environment. Similarly, being in a leadership role can be a plus if you utilize your position smartly and efficiently. Believe in your team and delegate work to lessen your burden. You are not the only one rowing the boat, people around are there to help you. Guide them regarding their tasks and keep checking the progress in between to get enhanced results. Let them steer the ship, you are the leader who can control the direction of the team. Delegating work will not only help train your employees but will also prove productive by allowing you to accomplish more goals than you can on your own.
Time Management
We often hear people mentioning the term fleetingly. but the fact of the matter is that time management is the key to success. However, only a few of us are good at managing our time. Good time management means having the skill to allocate specific time frame for tasks and getting it done in that allocated time, without wasting any time in between. Every minute is utilized in doing something constructive. For effective time management, it is advised that you set your short-term goals that lead to the achievement of the bigger goal. Dividing your bigger dreams into shorter milestones can help you allocate time for tasks wisely. Moreover, this is also where you can decide how to bring your team in the loop to delegate work or share the burden generally.
Knowing ourselves is what makes us understand our potentials, needs and wants better and allows us to adjust our work lives accordingly. For instance, some people are aware that they are more productive early in the morning, while some might possess the ability to work better at night. An analysis of our most productive hours, or the most productive ways of managing work is necessary for enhanced productivity. It is best to understand the patterns that our mind is adjusted to and work around those. Be empathetic enough to understand the patterns of those around you and help them work in a more productive environment.
Track Your Distractions
Ever since the rise of social media, most of us have become addicted to scrolling through our Facebook or Instagram feeds. Most of the time, we are not even aware of the time we waste on the social media. People get easily distracted in multiple other ways as well. Some people are used to checking their phones every minute, while others like to doodle on their notebooks. In any case, not only are we wasting our time by engaging in such activities but we are also letting our minds wander too far. It takes time for us to build the pace at which we were working. In most cases, by the time we are able to focus, we are again distracted by a beep on our phone. It is best to track our distractions and mindfully work on them to ensure we are not affecting our productivity.
Take a Break Before Your Work Breaks You!
It is imperative to understand that the human mind requires rest. At times, we are physically active but mentally exhausted. In such situations, even minor inconveniences can trigger our stress and frustration leading to poor quality of work. Even forcing yourself into monotonous work can drag you into mental health issues. This can be a serious impediment to your productivity. Every now and then, find yourself and your team an escape in which you are not merely physically away, but also mentally away. Go out on vacations without having to attend to your emails, or to your office burdens. Practice saying “I am on a vacation” and just sit back and relax. After all, you and your team are going to be back to the same work routine after your little escape time is over. HH
