The 6th International Joint Pakistan Prosthodontics Association – Pakistan Association of Orthodontists Conference 2018 was conducted with close co-ordination between Headquarters Southern Command, Pakistan Prosthodontics Association, Pakistan Association of Orthodontists, Bolan Medical College (Dental Section) and the Government of Balochistan. Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa graced the opening ceremony along with higher officials from the Government of Balochistan. They appreciated the efforts put in by all the organizers, especially the pivotal role of team 21 Military Dental Centre.

Thirty-nine speakers, including six international speakers from orthodontics and prosthodontics participated in the conference and shared their knowledge and clinical experiences. Maxillofacial surgery and operatives dentistry distinguished speakers also shared their knowledge and expertise in this event. Eleven scientific sessions and two treatment planning sessions of each specialty were conducted by the senior faculty members to guide and improve the clinical acumen of young aspiring participants.
Under the auspices of this conference, both foreign and local faculty conducted pre and post conference workshops on salient clinical subjects.
Postgraduate and undergraduate trainees from all over Pakistan were encouraged to participate in quiz and poster competition. Traders were also invited to attend the conference and workshops to promote their equipment with a setup of around 10 trading companies and twenty-five stalls.
This conference has introduced the dentists of the country and participants of the conference in general and Balochistan especially to the ever-expanding horizons of clinical expertise.
