April 22 -- The World Earth Day: Children The Planet Protectors

April 2025

Every year on April 22, people across the world come together to celebrate Earth Day — a special occasion dedicated to protecting our beautiful planet. But taking care of the earth isn’t just a job for grown-ups. Children, school students and youth can make a huge difference! Every small action, when done by many, can help create a cleaner, greener, and healthier world.

So, friends, how can you be the best ‘Planet Protectors’? Let’s explore some fun and easy ways to care for the mother earth!
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – The Three R’s
The Three R’s are the golden rule of saving the environment:
Reduce: Use fewer things that create waste. Carry a reusable lunchbox instead of disposable plastic wraps.
Reuse: Instead of throwing things away, find new uses for them! Old jars can become plant pots, and used notebooks can become scrapbooks.
Recycle: Always separate paper, plastic, and glass from regular trash so these can be turned into new products instead of ending up in landfills.
Save Water – Every Drop Counts!
Water is one of the most precious resources, and wasting it can lead to shortages. Here’s how you can save water every day:
-    Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
-    Take shorter showers instead of long baths.
-    Use a bucket instead of a hose to wash your bicycle or water plants
-    If you see a leaking tap at home or school, tell an adult to fix it.
Save Energy – Be a Light Saver!
Electricity is made from natural resources like coal, oil, and water. The more we use, the more harm we cause to the environment. Follow these energy-saving habits:
-    Turn off lights and fans when leaving a room.
-    Unplug chargers and devices when not in use.
-    Use natural sunlight instead of electric bulbs during the daytime.
-    Encourage your family to use energy-saving appliances like LED bulbs.
Plant More Trees – Green is Great!
Did you know that trees provide oxygen, clean the air, and even help control climate change? This Earth Day, make a promise to yourself to:
-    Plant a tree in your home, school, or park.
-    Take care of plants by watering them regularly.
-    Avoid cutting or damaging plants and trees unnecessarily.
-    Even a small plant on your windowsill can help make the Earth greener!
Keep Your Environment Clean
A clean planet is a happy planet! Keep your surroundings neat by:
-    Never littering—always throw waste in a dustbin.
-    Picking up trash when you see it in parks or on the street.
-    Encouraging your school to have "Clean-Up Days" where students work together to remove garbage.
-    Teaching others about the importance of cleanliness.
Protect Wildlife and Nature
Animals and birds are important for our ecosystem. You can help them survive and stay safe by:
-    Never disturbing birds’ nests or harming small animals.
-    Keeping a bowl of water outside for birds during hot summers.
-    Avoiding the use of harmful chemicals that pollute rivers and lakes.
-    Saying no to products made from animal skin or ivory.
Become an Earth Champion!
One of the best ways to help the planet is by inspiring others to do the same! Here’s how you can spread the message:
-    Tell your friends and family about Earth-friendly habits.
-    Make posters or drawings about protecting nature and display them at school.
-    Organize small events like a "Green Day" where students plant trees together.
-    Share earth-saving tips during school assemblies or class discussions.
Earth Day is Every Day!
While April 22 is a special day to celebrate our planet, taking care of the earth is a responsibility we have every day! Even the smallest actions — like turning off a light, picking up litter, or planting a tree — can make a huge impact when millions of children do the same.
Let’s promise to be kinder to our planet. Because when we take care of the mother earth, it takes care of us – its children.

Happy Earth Day!

Love  The Earth

The Earth is calling, can't you hear?
It needs our help, so stay sincere.
The trees, the rivers, and the sky,
Are gifts so precious — don’t let them die!

The birds that sing, the air so free,
The flowers dancing with the bee.
But if we waste, and harm the land,
The Earth will slip from our own hand.

So plant a tree, let nature grow,
Keep the oceans clean and flow.
Turn off the lights, don’t waste the rain,
Let’s keep our Earth free from pain!

One small step, a promise true,
A greener world starts with you!
Love the Earth, make it stay,
Let’s celebrate Earth Day today!
