Soins aux Femme: DIYs for Winter Hair

Just like any kind of extreme weather becomes harmful for our skin, it has the same effect on our hair as well. Cold weather makes our hair dry, frizzy and brittle. Frizz can ultimately lead to split ends and hair fall. The dryness may even cause dandruff and an itchy scalp. In intense weathers when the temperature can drop to 2 degrees Celsius, your hair needs constant care, therefore, putting on conditioners and masks containing harsh chemicals can do more harm than good in the long term. So, what could be better than a natural homemade hair mask? These masks will help in restoring the moisture to your dull and dry hair making them frizz free, smooth and shiny.

Egg Yolk and Honey Mask
Ingredients needed to make this mask include one egg yolk, a cup of honey and one tablespoon of olive oil. All you need to do is beat the egg yolk till it turns frothy. Add honey and olive oil and mix well. Massage the mixture into your hair and scalp for about 5 minutes and then leave it on for an hour. Wash it off using your regular shampoo. Repeat this at least three times a week for fast results.
Yogurt and Apple Cider Vinegar Mask
Take two tablespoons of yogurt in a bowl and mix in a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. After mixing well add one teaspoon of lemon juice to the mix. Apply the mixture to your hair and scalp and massage. Leave it in for 30 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water using your regular shampoo. Remember, masks with ingredients like vinegar can be harsh for your hair, so they should not be used more than once a week.
Banana and Yogurt Mask
This mask will help restore shine to your dull hair and make it smoother at the same time. All you are going to need is one ripe banana, half a cup of yogurt and two tablespoons of olive oil. Add yogurt to the mashed banana and mix well ensuring that there are no lumps left. Add the olive oil. Apply the mixture to the hair and scalp leaving it in for about 45 minutes. Wash if off with lukewarm water and shampoo. Repeat thrice a week.

Coconut Oil Mask
To make the coconut oil hair mask, you are going to need the obvious – coconut oil – apple cider vinegar and honey. Simply take two tablespoons of coconut oil, and mix in two tablespoons of honey and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Pour into a jar and apply half an hour before showering. Wash off with lukewarm water and shampoo. This mixture can be reused. Make sure you mix it well before the next use since all ingredients will separate while it sits on your washroom stand.
Milk and Honey Mask
For this effective hair food, you need a cup of raw milk and a teaspoon of honey. Mix both the ingredients well and apply to your hair and scalp. Massage into your scalp for a good few minutes and leave it in for about half an hour. Wash it off and don’t hesitate to repeat this twice a week for best results.  HH
