Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan: A Reflection on the Ideological Expression

Every year we celebrate the 5th February, by forming human chains on all major routes leading to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) from Pakistan, as the Kashmir Solidarity Day with the purpose to reiterate the continued support to our brethren in the Indian Occupied Kashmir and to draw the world’s attention towards the brutalities of Indian security forces against Kashmiris, who are demanding freedom from Indian oppressive rule. But, this year’s Kashmir Solidarity Day is unique because all Kashmiris are fearlessly expressing the ideological expression, Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan, coined by Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayum Khan, Mujahid-e-Awal, who officially regularized this slogan in Azad Kashmir Act. The inclusion of this catchphrase’s timing was pivotal. As Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan ex-Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir in an interview precisely expounded: after the fall of Dhaka different Hindu languages and dominated mottos like Bangladesh, Sidhu-daish, Kashar-daish, Pakhtoonistan, Azeemter Punjab and Greater Balochistan were sponsored and spread, Mujahid-e-Awal sensed the evolving nature of the drifts and was able to introduce Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan not only in Azad Kashmir Act but also declared shalwar qameez as the official uniform during his tenure as President of Azad Kashmir. Thus, he provided a constitutional cover leading to future direction for all Kashmiris. He further quoted Quaid-i-Azam as saying, “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan,” and that Mujahid-e-Awal’s roar Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan is a direct reflection of Kashmir’s relationship with Pakistan. In the footprints of Mujahid-e-Awal, Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan came up with another motto — Kashmir Seeks Attention

The seeds of Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayum Khan’s struggle rejuvenated once again after Hizubul Mujahideen Commander, Burhan Wani’s martyrdom, when for the first time Kashmiri youth hoisted the Pakistani flag gallantly in front of heavily armed Indian military. To express their love and affection with Pakistan, Burhan Muzaffar Wani Shaheed was wrapped in the Pakistani flag.

Indians are using pellet guns against men, women and children. They have snatched their rights, captured their land, killed the people and promoted state terrorism in Kashmir.

Despite everything, India still claims Kashmir as its Atoot Ang. Instead of claiming this, India needs to comprehend the fact that deploying more than 800,000 armed personnel in Kashmir, committing brutalities and atrocities, disputes its claim. It cannot justify committing such heinous acts and deprive the people from right of self-determination under UNSC resolution. Kashmiris demand the discontinuation of these atrocities and state sponsored terrorism. Due to India’s failed strategy in Kashmir, the resolve has intensified and created outrage among Muslims.
Indians are using pellet guns against men, women and children. They have snatched their rights, captured their land, killed the people and promoted state terrorism in Kashmir. India wants to curb their identity by scrapping Article 35 A in order to pursue its ulterior motives. India has designed a scheme to make demographic changes. The indiscriminate use of lethal weapons, killing, loot, plunder and sexual assault on women has become a routine matter.
Kashmir is the unfinished agenda of partition of the subcontinent and Indian state terrorism only serves as a catalyst which fuels the hatred towards India and intensifies the struggle for freedom. Since the inception of the freedom struggle, unprecedented sacrifices have been rendered by the Kashmiris on both sides of the divide. The ferocity with which the fire for freedom struggle has lit up once again, has proved that Kashmiris are not willing to accept colonialism anymore. The use of pellet guns by Indians escalated the emotions of victims while radical views of BJP under Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of UP Aditya Nath Yogi the most extreme voice of Hindutva against Kashmiris has further heightened the hatred in Muslim community. As a result, people have now started expressing their views openly for accession to Pakistan.

India thinks that the brutality will distance Kashmiris from their friendship with Pakistan but little do they know that this has further boosted and warmed Kashmiris relation with Pakistan.

The perception of Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayum Khan and the ideology which he followed gives an insight on current Kashmir cause. Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan proved to be a strong emotional support for the youth who now understand their rights. This notion introduced by him injected the desired spirit among Kashmiri youth to stand up against the cruel and unjust system prevailing in the Indian occupied Kashmir. His message on this special day to the nation is, “Kashmiris should understand the Indian’s behavior now and consider the fact India is not interested in Kashmiris but only interested in Kashmiri piece of land. The Indiands may think the piece of land as India’s Atoot Ang but never the Kashmiris. Of course, India only wants territorial expansion. India is not trusting Kashmiris due to India’s ulterior motives of expansion and likewise Kashmiris also do not trust India. India is aware of this fact that we are not willing to be a part of India. Nearly 2 million Kashmiris using Pakistani passport for travel and enjoying dual right of vote is one experience and other is with India. India’s brutality at each and every step that it has taken to curb our voice distanced us and deepened closeness with Pakistan. All steps of brutality, maiming, killing, looting, current persecutions and heinous acts by striking our dignity, honor and rights, by using all tools, further boosted and warmed our relations with Pakistan.”
India thinks that the brutality will distance Kashmiris from their friendship with Pakistan but little do they know that this has further boosted and warmed Kashmiris relation with Pakistan.
Last but not the least, Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan provids the permanent future direction to Kashmiris and no one can divert Kashmiris from the set path. The message on Kashmir Solidarity Day is that we are one and are united under the Pakistani flag. You cannot divide us HH.
