How to smell Amazing all the time

Who doesn’t love a good perfume? Your favorite perfumes can boost your mood to a ten from zero. Coco Chanel once said, “A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.” Even though that sounds a little too dramatic, perfumes do help give your personality and confidence a kick. Most of us spend thousands of rupees on perfumes just to smell good for maybe two hours at max and settle for it. Some perfumes aren’t made to last long but that’s not the case for all perfumes. If we were to tell you that you were applying your perfumes in all the wrong ways to all the wrong places, you wouldn’t possibly believe us. But it is a fact!

Myth
According to movies, commercials, etc., fragrances should be applied to your wrists and then rubbed together and you shall smell amazing. Incorrect! If you rub your wrists together it’ll simply heat up your wrists and the notes will be disturbed, hence, it won’t last long. Similarly applying a fragrance to your chest will make you smell good only for a few minutes.
How best to apply perfume?
You should always apply your perfume to your pulse points where you can see your blood vessels. Such areas are sensitive and absorb the perfume faster so you can smell good for longer. These points include wrists, elbows, behind ears, the back of knees and ankles. Below are a few hacks that can help you make your perfume last longer.
a.    Moisturize before applying
Always moisturize before applying perfume. Perfumes tend to stick longer if they are applied to a sticky surface. But make sure your moisturizer is not fragranced or the perfume will mix with the moisturizer and lose its fragrance.
b.    Belly button
We all know about spraying your wrist and your neck with a fragrance for long lasting effect, but very few of us know that applying a few drops of your perfume to your belly button can truly make a difference. Belly button is a pressure point and would most possibly be the warmest point on our body as well. Apply a few drops and get ready to be amazed. (Pregnant women should avoid this for safety purposes)
c.    Vaseline
Vaseline takes longer to absorb into skin and like mentioned above, perfumes like to cling to sticky surfaces. Apply Vaseline to your pulse points and then spritz your favorite perfume.
d.    Stronger notes
Try to invest in scents with stronger notes, they tend to last longer than scents with lighter notes. Try looking for notes like wood or musk rather than jasmine and citrus; they tend to last longer.
e.    Spritz after shower
When your body is damp, the moisture will lock the fragrance in for longer, and hence, last longer. That is why it is always suggested to use deodorants and perfumes right after a shower. If you put on moisturizer on your damp skin and then apply a perfume, it will give you even better results.
f.    Perfume your hairbrush
Perfumes tend to last longer on your hair but it may be unhealthy to apply it directly to your hair so spritz your perfume on your hairbrush and then brush your hair with it.
Difference between Eau de parfum and Eau de toilette
If you’re looking for a long lasting perfume make sure to invest in a eau de parfum because they have higher concentration, therefore the fragrance will last longer and smell stronger. Whereas an eau de toilette has a lower concentration of perfume and therefore it lasts for fewer hours and doesn’t even smell strong enough. Reason why you may gravitate towards an eau de toilette without even knowing is that it is cheaper than eau de parfum. But even if you’re spending a few more bucks on an eau da parfum, remember a little goes a long way, therefore you consume less as well. If you’re looking for the best results, try looking for a perfume which has a concentration of 20 to 30%, but beware, these come with a hefty price tag always.
Always try to store your perfumes in a cool and dark  place because if the perfume is kept in direct sunlight, in a hot place, or in a moist place, like your washroom, it will affect its longevity. Also if you apply your perfume to your clothes, it will last a very long time so along your body, try spritzing some to your clothes as well. HH
