Third National Security Workshop Held in Balochistan

Efforts made to Raise Awareness of National Security Issues
National Security Wokshop Balochistan-III was organized by Pakistan Army in collaboration with Government of Balochistan. Designed to create an understanding about critical national security issues and capacity building in timely decision making, it laid special emphasis on enhancing awareness about national security management system, perception building, media management and elements of national power. A total of 102 participants including members of national and Balochistan provincial assemblies, tribal elders/notables, media representatives and bureaucrats participated in the workshop. 
During their visit to Headquarters Southern Command, the participants were briefed in detail about the security paradigm of the region vis-a-vis steps taken by Pakistan Army to stabilize the law and order situation of the province besides effectively thwarting enemies’ designs. 
Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, the chief guest at the closing ceremony held at HQ Southern Command, congratulated the participants on successful completion of this prestigious workshop and urged the participants to accrue maximum from it and apply it in practical life. He further said, “Balochistan is a land of opportunities and in view of emerging geo-political environment, the entire world is focused on Balochistan”. He reiterated that only synergized approach can tackle the challenges and exploit the opportunities offered by CPEC. 
The chief guest spoke at length about the Khushal Balochistan Program which is benefiting the region, adding that Army's outreach program to facilitate the people living in far-flung areas is continuing in full swing in efforts to bring prosperity to the province, with the socio-economic indicators having shown a positive surge. Participants of the workshop gave various suggestions on health, education and infrastructure fields during the interactive session. 
During the course of the workshop, renowned scholars, senior diplomats and technocrats delivered lectures. Visit of prestigious government institutions including the call on with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa was the highlight of their study tour.
