Special Envoy of the OIC for J&K and Assistant Secretary-General along with a High Level Delegation Visit Muzaffarabad

Ambassador Yousef Aldobeay, Special Envoy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Jammu and Kashmir, and Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs, Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakheet, during their two day visit to the LOC/Azad Jammu and Kashmir, visited Muzaffarabad along with a high level delegation including five senior diplomats from brotherly Muslim countries including KSA, Morocco, Sudan and Maldives on November 11, 2021.

The delegation visited Thotha Refugees Camp where they were briefed on the elaborate measures taken for the socioeconomic well-being of the inhabitants who had fled from Indian atrocities in IIOJK. Delegates also visited the Vocational Training Centre and interacted with the refugees.
Later, the delegation met with the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) where they were apprised on the security monitoring mechanism along the LOC and the prevalent situation.
During the visit, the delegation also met with the President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir besides holding meetings with representatives of various political parties and members of the civil society.
The delegation thanked the Government of Pakistan for affording them an opportunity to visit the LOC and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and get an eyewitness account of the situation along the LOC and the impact of Indian atrocities on the Kashmiris.
