Pakistan Navy Ship ZULFIQUAR, with embarked helicopter visited Port Aksaz (Turkey) to participate in Exercise MAVI BALINA-2020, 5th PN-TN bilateral Exercise TURGUTREIS-V and Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) with Turkish Navy. Upon arrival at Port Aksaz, PNS ZULFIQUAR was extended a warm welcome by the Turkish naval authorities that is reflective of brotherly relations between the two countries.
Exercise MAVI BALINA-2020
MAVI BALINA-2020 is a multilateral maritime exercise in which ships and aircraft of Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Romania and the U.S. also participated. It was designed to further strengthen mutual learning, share experiences and to enhance interoperability between the participating navies. The exercise was conducted in three phases, i.e., harbour, sea and analysis/closing phase under stringent COVID-19 protocols.
During the stay at Port Aksaz, Commanding Officer PNS ZULFIQUAR called on senior naval officials and dignitaries including Rear Admiral I. Kurtulus Sevinc and Flag Officer Commanding Aksaz Naval Base. During the interactions, Commanding Officer Pakistan Navy Ship conveyed well wishes of Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi for the people of Turkey in general and Turkish Navy in particular. The Commanding Officer also expressed condolences over the loss of precious lives during Izmir earthquake. He amply highlighted illegal occupation of Kashmir by Indian forces and extended his gratitude for wholehearted support provided by Turkish Navy and Aksaz Port authorities in making the ship’s stay comfortable.
PNS ZULFIQUAR Visits Port of Aqaba, Jordan
The ship also visited the Port of Aqaba, Jordan, as part of Pakistan Navy overseas deployment to Mediterranean/Red Sea and was received by Defence Attaché (Pakistan) Amman and the Royal Jordanian Naval Force (RJNF) Liaison Officer.
During the stay at the port, Commanding Officer PNS ZULFIQUAR called on senior Jordanian Navy and government officials including Commander Royal Jordanian Naval Force, Colonel Hisham Al-Jarrah. During the interactions, matters of mutual interest were discussed and contribution of Pakistan Navy to regional peace and maritime security were also underlined. Besides, Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K) were highlighted. The Commanding Officer conveyed well wishes from CNS Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi for the people of Jordan in general and RJNF in particular. He also extended his gratitude for whole hearted support provided by RJNF in making ship’s stay comfortable. During the stay at Aqaba, Commander Royal Jordanian Naval Force also visited PNS ZULFIQUAR.
PNS ZULFIQUAR, after sailing from the Aqaba Port, conducted passage exercise with RJNF Fast Attack Craft Al Hassan (P 102), and Patrol Crafts, Mohamamd-1 and Mohamamd-2.
The visit of PNS ZULFIQUAR is a reaffirmation of cordial and brotherly relations with Turkish Navy and RJNF to expand further collaboration in all professional fields. Participation of PNS ZULFIQUAR in current exercises was also in pursuance of the policies of the Government of Pakistan.
