Pakistan Army Carries Out a Successful Rescue and Relief Operation at Torkham Border

Pakistan Army carried out a successful rescue operation at the Torkham Border. The joint efforts of Pakistan Army's rescue and risk management teams, along with the Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers, Rescue 1122, and civil administration, have been ongoing for several days. Through their continuous efforts day and night, Pakistan Army Engineers and urban search and rescue teams have recovered the bodies of eight deceased persons and rescued 12 severely injured individuals. Additionally, the rescue and risk management teams have successfully retrieved 27 trucks and containers from the debris, enabling a successful cutting mission. The success of the rescue operation is attributed to Pakistan Army, FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rescue 1122, Police, and civil administration, who continued their efforts with steadfastness, determination, and courage under the guidance of military experts. The affected individuals and their families have expressed gratitude towards Pakistan Army's round-the-clock efforts.



During the relief operations, a sudden landslide occurred on April 21, 2023; however, the rescue teams and other individuals remained safe. Pakistan Army and FC soldiers continued their relief work till the completion of Eid to facilitate the people. Despite difficult conditions, Pakistan Army Engineers, and Army Urban Search and Rescue teams utilized various dumpers, dozers, and other machinery and remained steadfast to complete the relief efforts in the affected areas.
