Grand Celebrations Mark 76th liberation Day of Gilgit-Baltistan

Under the auspices of the Pakistan Army, the 76th Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) was celebrated with great enthusiasm on November 1, 2023 at Army Helipad, GB.
This splendid event had Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz, as the Chief Guest, along with the Governor of GB, Syed Mehdi Shah, Chief Minister GB, Haji Gulber Khan, and Commander Force Command Northern Areas (FCNA), Major General Kashif Khalil, along with various government and military officials.



While addressing the parade, the Chief Guest emphasized that the people of GB and the brave soldiers have continued to play an indelible role in safeguarding both the geographical and ideological boundaries of our cherished homeland, even following the liberation of GB. Their unwavering commitment has been a crucial contribution to the strength and stability of the nation, with each individual playing their part.
The people of GB have not only made significant sacrifices for the survival and strength of Pakistan, but have also made equal sacrifices for the freedom of the oppressed and deprived Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir and the completion of Pakistan's struggle.
In the ceremony, the Pakistan Army, Northern Light Infantry (NLI) Centre, GB Scouts, Women Police, GB Police, Punjab Rangers, SCO, Cadet College Skardu, and Cadet College Chilas participated in the parade.
During the ceremony, the army's Special Services Group (SSG) commandos displayed a magnificent helicopter fly-past and received public appreciation. Furthermore, free-fall jumping was also part of this magnificent ceremony.
Alongside this, school and college children from all over GB presented various national and regional songs and cultural dances.
The local people expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Pakistan Army whose cooperation made the celebration of November 1 a magnificent event throughout GB.
