Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi during his official visit to Turkey called on Minister of National Defence, Turkish Armed Forces Commander, Turkish Naval Forces Commander, Commander Turkish Fleet and President of Defence Industries. The CNS also visited Gölcük and Istanbul Naval Shipyards, Turkey.
Upon his arrival at the Turkish Naval Forces’ Headquarters, CNS Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was presented the guard of honour and subsequently conferred with “Legion of Merit of the Turkish Armed Forces” by Turkish Naval Forces’ Commander in an impressive ceremony. Both the dignitaries discussed matters of naval collaboration and mutual interests aimed at further enhancing ties between the navies of two brotherly countries. CNS was given a comprehensive briefing regarding Turkish Naval Forces.
He also called on Minister of National Defence Mr. Hulusi Akar and Turkish Armed Forces Commander General Yaşar Güler at Turkish General Staff Headquarters, Ankara. The CNS called on President of Defence Industries, Mr. Ismail Demir at Presidency of Defence Industries. Matters related to regional security, bilateral defense collaboration and mutual interests were discussed. The CNS commended the role and contributions of Turkish Armed Forces for maintaining maritime peace and stability in the region. He also laid floral wreath at Atatürk Mausoleum, Ankara and signed the honour book.
During his visit to Turkish Fleet Headquarters Gölcük Naval Base, CNS was received by Commander Turkish Fleet, Admiral Ercüment Tatlioglu. He was given comprehensive briefing regarding the Turkish Fleet Command. He also called on Gölcük Naval Shipyard Commander, Rear Admiral (LH) Mustafa Saygili and Istanbul Naval Shipyard Commander, Rear Admiral (LH) Erdinç Yetkin separately, and visited both the shipyards where he was briefed about Pakistan Navy Milgem projects under construction. CNS later called on CEO ASFAT, Esad Akgün and was apprised about developing capabilities and capacities of military factories and shipyards.
Turkish dignitaries acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan Navy for maintaining maritime peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region.
It is expected that the recent visit of the CNS will further enhance and expand naval collaboration and defense ties between the two countries in general and both navies in particular.
