After the attack on Army Public School Peshawar on December 16, 2014, the schools and institutions were asked to improve the security. The KPK Government, KPK Police and Islamabad Police in collaboration with a private NGO have designed and successfully installed a security/ emergency panic alarm system in many schools of KPK and Federal Capital.
How does Panic Alert System work?
This emergency panic alert system allows a person under threat to speedily and silently call for police help through a single click on an electronic device/smart phone.
It would be activated when someone needs help from police in emergency situations like armed attack by terrorists, bomb blast, firing, or any other suspicious activities. Upon pushing the button, an alert is received on 16 different places within five seconds and Quick Response Forces (QRF) of police would rush towards the emergency area in minimum possible time and encounter the situation.
Panic alert system is installed in dedicated smart phones or fixed electronic devices, and is directly connected via control server to different stations i.e. Police Control, Capital Safety Program Offices, Rescue 15 Station and vehicles of QRF of Police and Rangers, to include the few. To respond timely and effectively, this initiative is not only limited to schools but has also integrated all educational institutes, hospitals, religious places, and media houses, directly with police through emergency panic alert system.
